Today was a full day!

The class began with French with Mr. Parhar. They’re learning how to conjugate the verb être (je suis, tu es, il est, elle est, etc.) while learning about a variety of descriptive words to describe themselves and their classmates.

We moved our Forest Walk from Monday today because of the weather, and we had a gorgeous foggy walk through the forest this morning. We were surprised that many of the bushes and trees already had buds on them.

In Math, we began to practice subtraction with fractions, and tomorrow there will be a Friday math quiz to see what they’ve learned this week.

In the afternoon, we watched the first half of BC School’s Black Excellence presentation in celebration of Black Excellence in BC, in Canada, and around the world. January 15 was chosen in honour of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. We will watch the second half of the presentation tomorrow.

Finally, we finished learning about human development into the Stone Age, and how fire transformed human brain sizes to make our current development possible. There is also a small Socials quiz tomorrow on everything we learned this week. The students helped come up with the questions and should be studying tonight in preparation.
