Happy October everyone! The last two days have been big days. We began two new units which will carry us through all of October and into November.
English Language Arts
In ELA, students began a month-long Writer’s Workshop designed to significantly improve their writing in a short period of time. Students will be writing daily, both in school and at home. In addition to writing, students will be assigned readings to do at home, and be required to come to school ready to discuss them. Please check-in here regularly to stay up to date on their reading requirements.
Science
In Science, we’re starting a unit on space. We’ll be exploring where matter comes from, how stars, planets, and moons are formed, and how objects in space move. We’ll be looking at key concepts such as gravity, mass, and energy.
To Do for Friday
- P.E. tomorrow — wear good running shoes
- Four page math homework due tomorrow on Divisibility Rules. See below for PDF if your child forgets to bring it home and the Divisibility Rules that students can use to solve the problems.
