We had a good start to our week today. Every Monday, we begin with a brief class meeting and then a short forest walk to help wake us up a bit. When we got back from our walk, we began a mini-unit on Indian Residential Schools. Students had an opportunity to share what they’ve learned in previous years, and we talked about the ways in which residential schools worked to remove culture and language from the lives of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. In math, we had a lesson on place value, and students have a short two page homework assignment due tomorrow.
In the afternoon, students had some time to read their new library books, had French with Ms. Ickert, and finished the day with a P.E. lesson in the gym.
